Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complete overhauls and rebuilds of Caterpillar diesel engines used in mining equipment such as haul trucks, dozers, loaders, and excavators.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot engine issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and replace engine components as needed.
  • Assemble engines according to Caterpillar specifications, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct and performance testing and adjustments of rebuilt engines to verify performance and reliability.
  • Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of engine rebuilds and repairs.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members to schedule and prioritize engine rebuilds based on equipment downtime and operational needs.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Trade qualified with post-trade experience as an engine rebuilder in the mining or heavy equipment industry
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of diesel engines and their components.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify engine issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and regulations
