Mackellar is one of Australia’s largest privately owned mining equipment & service providers in Mining and Civil Earthmoving. We are currently looking for an experienced Engine Rebuilder to join our maintenance team at our Blackwater Workshop. The Engine Rebuilder will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our mining equipment by overhauling and rebuilding engines to exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform complete overhauls and rebuilds of Caterpillar diesel engines used in mining equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, and excavators.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot engine issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and replace engine components as needed.
- Assemble engines according to Caterpillar specifications, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct and performance testing and adjustments of rebuilt engines to verify performance and reliability.
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of engine rebuilds and repairs.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to schedule and prioritize engine rebuilds based on equipment downtime and operational needs.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as an Engine Rebuilder, preferably in the mining or heavy equipment industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of diesel engines and their components.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify engine issues.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to safety practices and regulations.
- Trade Certification

What you'll need to succeed:

- Forklift License (desirable)
- Current QLD Drivers License
