Albert Park, Victoria, Australia Misuzu's Japanese Restaurant Full time $75,000 - $80,000 per year

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef on a full-time basis. In this role you will be required to adhere to all health and safety standards and will be responsible for preparing consistent, high quality food products as per menu and customer requests.

Ideally you will have exceptional time management, communication and organisation skills and the ability to work individually or as part of a team. High attention to detail is also a must.

Specific duties and requirements for the position include;

  • Have a passion for creating Japanese cuisine and skill cutting raw fish for sushi and sashimi
  • Add additional flavours to sushi rolls with ginger, rice vinegar, wasabi and soy sauce etc.
  • Food preparation such as washing, cutting, chopping, weighing and mixing ingredients.
  • Cook food using a variety of different cooking methods and ensuring minimal food wastage
  • Prepare appetizers, soups and salads that are close to the philosophy of Japanese cuisine
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to strict health and safety guidelines/standards
  • Receive, store and rotate stock as required

The ideal candidate will hold relevant qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) and/or have at least 3 years previous experience in the same/similar role.

The successful applicant will be rewarded with a salary of $75,000 - $80,000 excluding superannuation.
