Café Manager / Head Barista – Smoke on the Water Coffee Shop (Central Coast)

Hours: Early starts, Tuesday to Saturday, done by 1pm. Afternoons and Sundays free.

Start date: Early December

We're looking for a hands-on Café Manager who loves the buzz of busy mornings, great coffee, and a tight-knit crew.

Smoke on the Water Coffee Shop has built a loyal following over the past 6 years for our speed, quality, and good vibes — and we're now looking for the next leader to keep that standard flying high.

What you'll do:

  • Lead a small, experienced team through our morning rush with positivity and pace
  • Deliver consistently top-quality coffee and friendly service
  • Manage daily café operations — ordering, stock, cleanliness, and workflow
  • Oversee and grow our small retail section (beans, milk, coffee gear, etc.)
  • Keep the energy up and standards high.

You'll need:

  • Strong barista experience and love for coffee culture
  • Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (required)
  • Some experience in sales or retail — understanding how to make the front counter flow and stock move
  • A proven ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Reliability, self-motivation, and initiative — someone who takes pride in running a smooth ship
  • Availability on Saturdays (we close at 12)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
