Who is Statewide Apprenticeships?

Statewide Apprenticeships is an independent, community-based not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting the employment and training needs of South Australian apprentices, trainees, businesses and industry for over 30 years.

The Opportunity

Statewide Apprenticeships is seeking a motivated individual to undertake a full-time apprenticeship in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology with a well-regarded host business located in Findon and Greenfields. This is an excellent opportunity to kickstart your mechanical career while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

This full-time role (minimum 38 hours per week) will be paid under the relevant award, unless otherwise advised. Out-of-trade Light Vehicle Mechanics are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Learn

  • Routine servicing and maintenance of light vehicles (e.g. oil changes, battery checks, replacing parts)
  • Diagnostic inspections of brake systems, steering, transmissions, and engines
  • Lubrication, safety checks, and mechanical repairs
  • Tyre fitting and wheel balancing procedures
  • Following inspection checklists and working to industry standards

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is a recent school leaver or keen to start a mechanical career
  • Has a strong interest in repairing and servicing vehicles
  • Is physically fit, reliable and has great mechanical aptitude
  • Can pass a drug and alcohol screening and is willing to obtain a police check
  • Holds a current driver's licence and has reliable transport
  • Is committed to completing a 4-year apprenticeship
