Due to continued growth, GLW Freight is seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. This is a FIFO position operating on a 2/1 roster, with one week of days and one week of nights, flying from Adelaide. to Coober Pedy.

You'll be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a modern fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment supporting haulage and mining operations. This is a hands-on role that requires strong fault-finding skills, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety, reliability, and preventative maintenance.

What You'll Be Working On
  • New Kenworth C509 and T909 tri-drive trucks
  • Bruce Rock Engineering Quinn and Quad side tippers
  • CAT 988 and Komatsu WA600 loaders
  • Fleet of light vehicles and earthmoving machinery
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in diesel engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Respond to breakdowns and perform field repairs where necessary.
  • Complete service records, defect reports, and parts usage documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and maintenance standards.
  • Work collaboratively with operators, supervisors, and other maintenance staff.
Requirements
  • Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working with heavy road transport or mining equipment.
  • Proficient in fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • HR/HC/MC licence and high-risk work tickets (desirable).
  • Ability to work day and night shift in remote conditions.
  • Strong safety awareness and teamwork.
