Naughty Nancy's bar & restaurant is looking for an awesome chef/cook to join our team.

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate preferably with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a fast paced kitchen environment. There is an opportunity within the roll for career progression/promotion if desired for correct candidate. There will be an opportunity for future career progression into a Head chef role for the right candidate.

Job tasks and responsibilities

The job will be a hands on role delivering consistency and the successful candidate will have good time management and communication skills .

The successful candidate will need to be a team player need to demonstrate the following;

  • Passionate about food & a good knowledge of local food trends as well as some knowledge of modern Australian/European cuisine
  • Ability to assist with menu writing & creation
  • Estimating and forecasting food and labour costings and budgets
  • Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene & HACCP requirements
  • Preparing and cooking food to the standard set by the Head Chef
  • Ability to work with a team is essential, team leadership an advantage.
  • Hiring and training new kitchen staff alongside the head chef
  • Working with front of house management to cater to all types of food dietary requirements

Skills and experience;

  • The right candidate would need to have 2 years in a similar role
  • Preferably previously worked in a fast paced bar/restaurant service
  • Good communication skills
  • Hands on role, delivering a consistent and outstanding dining experience
  • You will be adept at running a busy service
  • You will be creative and contribute to menu ideas
  • You will guide and teach junior team members
  • You will establish a strong and positive relationship with FOH
