The Opportunity
Due to sustained growth, our client is seeking a Civil Engineering Lead to take on a pivotal role within their Hobart-based team. This is not only a senior technical position—it's an opportunity to bring people together, guide project delivery, and strengthen team capability during an exciting period of expansion.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical skills with proven leadership ability, fostering a collaborative culture while delivering innovative solutions for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee civil engineering design and delivery for residential and commercial projects.
  • Provide technical direction and ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Mentor and develop a team of engineers and technical staff, encouraging a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Liaise with clients, councils, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver trusted advice and build strong relationships.
  • Contribute to business growth through continuous improvement, process refinement, and identification of new opportunities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • CPEng status (or eligibility) with Engineers Australia.
  • Proven experience in delivering civil engineering solutions across residential subdivisions and commercial developments.
  • Strong understanding of subdivision design, stormwater, earthworks, and infrastructure servicing.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and unite a team through growth and change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-facing communication skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
