Senior Procurement Manager, Print and Direct Mail

Group Procurement manages all activities across the procurement lifecycle, namely:

• Requirements gathering and strategy – identify opportunities to add value to the Bank (and our customers and shareholders) through sourcing and negotiating with major suppliers.

• Execution and negotiation – deliver market leading commercial deals to balance the safety and security of our supply chain with the commercial imperatives of the Bank

• Implement and transition – bring to life the strategy developed and embed the change within the Bank.

• Performance and governance – ensure maximum value is delivered from our external relationships as a result of effective management and governance.

This role reports into the Executive Manager Corporate Services Procurement.

This role will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement lifecycle of the Marketing portfolio primarily focusing on Print and Direct Mail suppliers. This is a great opportunity to align with key stakeholders to ensure that we create value through strategic thinking, efficient processes and exceptional customer experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Procurement Strategy & Execution: Lead and support the total commercial management of a portfolio of categories and suppliers to enable successful delivery of associated business priorities and strategic initiatives. This may include business requirements mapping, supply market analysis, spend analysis, identification of demand drivers and demand management strategies; conducting market exercises; bid evaluation; negotiation and executing contracting strategies.

• Stakeholder & Customer Relationship Management:  Identify, develop, and manage strategic business relationships at all levels to enable delivery against Bank's Purpose and strategic priorities on customer service, technology and operational excellence. Requires interacting directly with key internal customers and stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure efficient delivery of procurement initiatives.

• Contract & Supplier Management:  Ensure category strategies and activities align with the Group Supplier Lifecycle Policy as well as other relevant policies and procedures. Assist Relationship Managers with commercial SME input during the development of effective supplier management frameworks and ongoing performance management of suppliers.

• Risk & Compliance:  Ensure business stakeholders have a full and comprehensive understanding of category risks, and all relevant risk documentation and processes have been completed.  Liaise with appropriate risk SME's, Business Owners and Relationship Managers to develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies for the relevant categories.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

• Professional experience (5+ years) in Procurement and / or Supply Chain Management role(s). Prior experience in managing Print and Direct Mail suppliers would be highly desirable

• A business related Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution would be desirable but not mandatory

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability to be persuasive and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.

• Advanced commercial and contract negotiation skills and experience.

• Strong commercial acumen and vision to align with strategic objectives in a highly complex, ambiguous and a large team environment.

• High degree of problem solving and decision-making ability.

• Ability to demonstrate a growth mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo.
