Qualified Cook / Chef required for regional work in the historic town of Woomera, South Australia,

Hays Recruitment are currently looking for qualified Chefs or experienced Cooks to join our clients team at the historic town of Woomera in far north South Australia. The successful candidate will be required to have strong cooking skills and a good understanding of food safety and allergen management.

Due to the location of the role (500km north of Adelaide) this position is a residential role which will see you living at Woomera and working a 5 day roster with very consistent hours (between 38 to 45 hours per week) with some extra possible hours to cover busy periods. The successful candidate will also receive free accommodation as our client has access to houses on site so this would see you sharing a 3 bedroom house with one or two other people.

As these roles are remote we are looking for candidates that have a drivers licence and reliable vehicle as there is limited public transport to and from Woomera.

The role will see you starting work in a busy Café environment, cooking A La Carte breakfast and lunches. All new staff start on the Breakfast shift which commences at 5am and after an initial training period there maybe opportunities to work across other shift patterns with different start times.

This role is offered on a 3 month rolling contract with the opportunity to stay longer if you want and to be successful in this role we are looking for candidates with experience in bulk catering within a large commercial kitchen environment that have excellent customer service and problem solving skills. This role will see you working with a close knit professional workforce with a major focus on working as a team and helping other people whenever you can.

Before the role can commence candidates would be required to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol test and provide a national police check that is no more than 4 weeks old.
