Senior Tourism Development Officer

Temporary (12 month parental leave contract commencing January 2026)

Full-time (average of 38 hours per week)

Responsible for implementing key actions from the City's Tourist Destination Strategy, you will be working with key stakeholders across the local, regional and the wider Perth tourism industry with a focus on developing and implementing a cohesive marketing plan to promote tourism development in Rockingham.

Self-motivated with exemplary communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal and network building skills, you have extensive experience in the Tourism and/or Marketing industry. Additionally, you have a well-developed understanding of modern marketing tactics and trends to influence and attract visitors, predominately intrastate and interstate.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria when completing your online application:

1. Comprehensive understanding of the local, regional and Western Australian tourism network
2. Extensive experience in developing and implementing tourism marketing strategies and destination branding campaigns, underpinned by strong knowledge of contemporary marketing trends and tactics specific to destination promotion
3. Substantial experience in social media management and website management and/or development projects
4. Developed experience supervising team members
5. Diploma or Degree level qualification in Tourism, Marketing, Media, Communications, Event Management or experience deemed equivalent

We are offering a gross annual salary of $108,076 per annum and:

• 12% superannuation with the opportunity to co-contribute up to a matching 5%
