You will make an impact by

- Leading the implementation of destination plans and tourism strategies that reflect community and industry needs.

- Building strong relationships with local businesses, tourism operators, and regional partners.

- Representing Council at networking events and forums, advocating for our region’s visitor economy.

- Collaborating across multifunctional teams including social planning, workforce development, and investment attraction.

- Driving innovative marketing campaigns and tourism projects that showcase our unique attractions.

What you will bring

- A strong understanding of tourism trends and the visitor economy, ideally within a local government or regional context.

- Empathy and insight into business needs, with the ability to translate political and economic shifts into actionable strategies.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills – you’re transparent, inquisitive, and approachable.

- Experience preparing reports, business cases, and grant applications to support tourism initiatives.

- Confidence in managing projects.

- A collaborative mindset and ability to work across diverse teams and disciplines.

- A proactive attitude – you take ownership, ask the right questions, and deliver with integrity.
