Queensland Police Service (QPS) Olympic & Paralympic Games Group (OPGG) is responsible for planning the operational policing responses to ensure a safe and secure Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Olympics is the biggest event in the world, and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of history. We need you to embrace the challenge.

The QPS maintains a high level of interoperability with key stakeholders including the Olympic and Paralympic Games Office, Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games Office and Queensland Treasury to support the budgetary requirements in planning and delivery.

The occupant of this position will head a small team as the OPGG matures in structure.

Your Key Accountabilities:

The core capability requirements for this role are:

  • Support the delivery of strategic plans, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Mentor and guide the Olympic and Paralympic Games team to achieve key objectives of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Group.
  • Lead, manage and implement business improvement processes.
  • Undertake research, analysing trends and forecasts to assist Senior Management in the delivery of Strategic Plans, Budgets and Financial forecasts.
  • Ensure financial services and initiatives are implemented with strong and genuine engagement of internal and external clients and key stakeholders.

Role Requirements:

Qualification

  • Tertiary/post graduate qualifications in accounting or related disciplines would be highly regarded.

At the conclusion of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the occupant of this role will be transitioned into an existing vacancy at the same classification with similar role and responsibilities.
