About the Role

This role is a hands-on Finance Manager position overseeing the Practice Management Advisory client's in their Brisbane's day-to-day finance operations while delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information and reporting. It's an ideal opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys taking ownership of the finance function in a collaborative and values driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with deadlines.
  • Provide variance analysis and financial insights to the Leadership Team.
  • Develop financial models and basic dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Manage the budgeting process, including preparation, review, and reforecasting.
  • Maintain cash flow forecasts and monitor performance against budget.
  • Operational Finance Management:
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and debtor management.
  • Monitor debtor collections and recommend improvements to optimise cash flow.
  • Compliance & Governance:
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations (BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax, Superannuation).
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Strategic Contribution:
  • Work closely with the Partners and Head of Operations to provide financial advice that supports business priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in accounting or finance (CA/CPA desirable but not essential).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a finance management or senior accounting role.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience managing operational finance processes, including payroll and debtor/creditor management.
  • Strong financial reporting skills (experience with Power BI or similar a bonus).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and solutions focused.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Power BI or similar tools.
