Area Sales Manager – NSW Food | FMCG | Independent Retail & Foodservice

NSW Territory | Progression into Key Account Management

Are you a driven sales professional ready to take the next step into Key Account Management?

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Area Sales Manager to join a fast-growing Australian food manufacturer that's expanding its footprint across the independent retail and foodservice channels.

Working closely with the National Account Manager, you'll take ownership of a diverse NSW territory — maintaining and growing existing relationships while identifying new business opportunities across distributors, independents, and foodservice operators. You'll be the face of the brand in market, building strong partnerships, ensuring supply consistency, and driving commercial outcomes that set the business up for continued success.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage and grow relationships with key customers across the NSW independent retail and foodservice channels.
  • Conduct regular store and distributor visits to strengthen partnerships and drive incremental sales.
  • Identify and secure new business through proactive lead generation, cold calling, and leveraging distributor networks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and production to deliver outstanding service and resolve any supply challenges.
  • Support tenders, proposals, and pricing submissions for new and existing customers.
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform sales strategy.
  • Represent the business at industry trade shows and food events, showcasing products and strengthening brand presence.

About You

  • Proven success in a territory or area sales role within FMCG, food manufacturing, or hospitality supply.
  • A natural relationship builder with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, commercially minded, and confident managing a broad customer base.
  • Exposure to independent supermarkets, foodservice distributors, or MSOs will be highly regarded.
  • Ambitious and ready to step up into a Key Account Management pathway.
  • Strong administrative discipline with experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly across NSW.
