About your new employer:

  • The insurance practice—among the largest in Australia—serves a wide range of clients, from insurers, insured, and brokers across a wide variety of classes.

About the role:

  • Work closely with a Partner & Head of the Sydney, as well as a Special Counsel.
  • Act in a broad range of insurance matters, including coverage advice, coverage disputes, policy interpretation, and defending litigated claims.
  • Assist in drafting pleadings, affidavits, advices, negotiating settlements, and preparing for mediations and trials.
  • Liaise with external counsel, clients, brokers, and experts.

The ideal candidate:

  • Have at least 3–7 years of experience in insurance law.
  • Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; capable of managing competing tasks.
  • Excellent communication, client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
