About the Opportunity

The AP/AR Reform Manager leads the transformation of customer financial operations, focusing on improving Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions through system reforms, policy development, and strong internal controls. This role is key to delivering sustainable, auditable financial improvements aligned with strategic goals. The role will be responsible to the Manager, Customer Financial Services on the following:

  • Lead reform initiatives, improvement and streamlining, of the AP and AR functions across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with AP/AR staff and ICT supplier to identify opportunities to implement enhancements, optimise workflows, maintaining internal controls and improving efficiency of the customer financial system.
  • Establish key performance indicators that drive efficiency, continuous improvement and quality customer service outcomes.
  • Design and embed financial controls, policies, and procedures in line with statutory obligations and risk frameworks.
  • Lead and enable a collaborative and high performing inclusive workforce where the safety and wellbeing are prioritised.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale reform or transformation initiatives in a public sector or financial services environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial operations, with a focus on AP, AR, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Proven experience with the implementation, enhancement, or optimisation of financial systems.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders, external partners, and service providers.
  • Expert level of written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and influence leadership decision-making.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

About the Business

The Office of the Public Trustee (Public Trustee) operates as part of the Attorney-General's Department and was established on 1 January 1881, under the Public Trustee Act 1995 (SA). It offers services to South Australians, including will preparation, powers of attorney, and administration of deceased estates and trusts. The Public Trustee is also responsible for managing the personal, legal, and financial affairs of individuals who are unable to handle these matters on their own. At the heart of our work is our commitment to protecting the wishes and interests of those we serve.

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested.
