We are looking for a Human Resources Adviser with experience working in the community aged care, mental health, disability or NDIS sectors. A specialist working with the SCHADS (Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services), Aged Care and Nurses Awards.

You will work closely with the management team and our human resources consultant on all things HR such as recruitment, induction and orientation of new employees, employee relations, industrial relation matters, staff grievance resolution and employment retention.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Human Resource Adviser to manage and support HR functions, systems, and administrative operations across the organisation. The role ensures accurate HR records, compliance with policies and legislation, payroll and rostering accuracy, and support for management and staff in all HR-related matters.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sound knowledge of the NES, Fair Work legislation and regulations, HR policies and procedures, Aged Care Award, SCHADS Award and Nurses Award
  • Arrange advertising of job vacancies, interviewing & reviewing applicants, select staff
  • Negotiates salaries, terms and conditions for staff
  • Develop new staff agreement contracts, variations to contracts, flexibility work agreements and position descriptions
  • Maintain HR records and system information - Systems HR Central, LeeCare, Deputy, Wageloch
  • Collaborate with management & staff on workplace relations, staff performance, probation, staff grievances, disputes, disciplinary matters, terminations and redundancies
  • Provide frontline HR advice and support to managers and employees ie; award level progressions and staff wage adjustments etc
  • Apply relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks to manage inquiries and HR processes
  • Develop, monitor, review, and evaluate HR policies, strategies, and plans
  • Advise and assist on recruitment, induction, training, conditions of service, salaries, promotion opportunities and development programs
  • Support work, health and safety, employee engagement, capability, and development initiatives
  • Manage HR projects and liaise with stakeholders, auditors, and regulatory bodies

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Human Resource Management
  • Experience: 3 years in HR advisory, HR administration, or similar roles
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with HR, payroll, and rostering software (HR Central, Leecare, Xero, Deputy, Wageloch, Jotform or equivalents)
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail and reporting skills
  • Excellent customer service, communication (both written & verbal) and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and maintain confidentiality
  • Proven ability to support and train staff in HR systems
  • Current valid Australian working rights
  • Experience in the mental health, aged care and NDIS sector preferred
  • NDIS Workers screening check & National Police Clearance
  • Unrestricted WA Driver's License
