About the Role
The Manager, Regulatory Relations is responsible for supporting the global oversight of ANZ's management of the Level 2 risk, effective relationships with its main Prudential and Conduct Regulators. It is responsible for:
Managing and achieving exceptional engagement with APRA and ASIC.
Central coordination and oversight of group-wide regulatory interactions in specific areas of responsibility, to drive consistency of interpretation and appropriate timely responses.
Support development and uplift in governance practices, policies and processes for managing regulatory relationships.
This role requires strong partnerships with senior internal stakeholders to support effective regulatory relationships across the bank. For this role, experience with Technology regulatory topics and familiarity with ANZ's Operations is preferred.

What will your day look like?
As a Manager, Regulatory Relations, you are accountable for:
Understand stakeholder needs in your divisional coverage portfolio to coordinate quality and timely regulatory interactions that are informed, balanced, and aligned with both organisational objectives and regulatory expectations.
Work closely with key business, risk and compliance teams in Group Technology and Group Operations to support interactions with regulators and provide on-site support to our regulators.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance processes supporting effective regulator engagement including issue management, information sharing, effective regulator review preparation and organisation
Establish practical mechanisms to gather the information required to provide visibility and awareness over all significant regulatory interactions.
Design an effective operating rhythm for coordination of on-site supervisory visits and briefing of internal stakeholders.
Contribute to and foster the development of an enhanced risk culture
Ensure ANZ's core values are always maintained in dealing with internal and external stakeholder, government agencies and external regulators
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Demonstrates sound judgement and an ability to understand regulatory issues and business risks in Technology and Operations.
Manage priorities and conflicting issues in a professional/risk-based manner
Ability to build and maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders and influence/negotiate outcomes
Excellent communication skills – oral, written and presentation – including making technical subject matter simple
Strong knowledge of the bank's internal structure
Experience working with Technology and Operations
