About the Role

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our dynamic team full-time. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in a fast-paced kitchen focused on Japanese cuisine. You'll be working in a supportive setting that values creativity, quality, and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

As our Chef, your main duties will include:

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard
  • Managing day-to-day kitchen operations, including food prep, stock rotation, and waste minimisation
  • Ensuring all dishes meet our quality and presentation standards
  • Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in line with health regulations
  • Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed
  • Assisting with menu development, seasonal specials, and recipe innovation
  • Working closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth, efficient service and a great customer experience
  • Reporting and addressing any kitchen equipment issues promptly

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings both skill and passion to the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Chef, preferably with a focus on Japanese cuisine
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Strong technical cooking skills and a genuine love for Japanese flavours and presentation
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene best practices
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • A team-oriented mindset with great communication skills and a proactive attitude
