As the AOD State Manager for Queensland, you will play a pivotal leadership role, driving excellence across our AOD programs and contributing to national strategy and innovation.

About the RoleThe AOD State Manager, QLD is a senior leadership position responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of all Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services within Queensland. This role ensures high-quality service delivery, strong stakeholder relationships, and effective management of statewide contracts and programs.
As a key representative of the organisation, the State Manager will champion the needs of individuals experiencing AOD-related harms and contribute to national strategic direction through active participation in the National AOD Leadership Team.
Service Delivery & Development
- Lead the review, enhancement and integration of AOD services across the state.
- Drive the implementation of national frameworks and best-practice models in alignment with the National AOD Model of Care.
- Build and empower a high-performing team of social service professionals to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
- Develop strategic partnerships with agencies to ensure participants have seamless access to the full breadth of support services.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities to expand service capacity and innovation.
- Lead contract negotiations with state government partners for new and evolving funding arrangements.
- Monitor sector trends and emerging needs to ensure services remain contemporary and responsive.
- Implement nationally aligned frameworks that strengthen outcome measurement and service effectiveness.
- Champion the local mission delivery model and ensure active participation in local leadership initiatives.
Operational Leadership
- Provide comprehensive oversight and accountability for the operational performance of all AOD programs in Queensland.
- Embed strong governance, compliance and accountability frameworks across service delivery.
- Ensure robust risk management processes are in place to support safe, high-quality client care.
- Maintain adherence to all contractual, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Partner with Finance Business Partners to develop, monitor and manage service budgets.
- Lead and support line managers to build safe, well-governed, and high-performing teams that align with TSA policy and procedures.
- Degree qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Community Development or a related discipline (or equivalent) with a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience, including at least 5 years in management.
- Qualifications in Business or demonstrated business management experience (highly regarded).
- Experience contributing to community, government or sector-based committees or bodies (advantageous).
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications (desirable).
- A valid state-based Working with Children Check (required).
