Position Summary

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Officer will act as a versatile finance professional, managing accounting processes and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The role involves hands-on use of ERP systems and other tools, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards and supporting Spirax Sarco's strategic business goals.

Qualifications & experience

  • Strong interest in building a career in finance or accounting
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take ownership of tasks
  • 1–3 years' experience in an accounts, office, or administrative setting
  • Tertiary qualification (or working towards) in Commerce, Accounting, or related discipline
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. JDE, NAV, SAP or similar)
  • Strong skills in MS Excel and exposure to a BI tool (e.g. Power BI)
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proven customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Assist across both accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks
  • Process customer invoices, receipts, collections, and supplier payments
  • Manage statement reconciliations for supplier and customer accounts
  • Prepare daily bank postings, reconciliations, and support audit requests
  • Coordinate and assist with company credit cards and fleet vehicle management
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers, providing timely response to queries
  • Support the maintenance of the fixed asset register
  • Prepare daily and month-end journey entries and reconcile to the general ledger
  • Assist with month-end and year-end reporting and analysis
  • Follow company procedures and controls to ensure compliance in all finance activities
