Our client is located north of the river and are looking for a People/ Employee Relations Advisor.

Your new role

In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with leaders to minimise risk, enhance culture, and drive performance across the business, as well as looking after Employee Relations.
  • Providing expert advice and coaching on performance management, misconduct, grievances, fitness for work, and team culture.
  • Leading workplace investigations of varying complexity.
  • Coaching leaders to build their people management capability.
  • Interpreting enterprise agreements and employment contracts.
  • Driving continuous improvement in employee relations processes, policies, and initiatives.
  • Supporting claims and disputes before the Fair Work Commission and Equal Opportunity Commission.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree qualification in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
  • Considerable HR generalist experience in a medium to large multidisciplined organisation.
  • Considerable experience coaching, supporting and advising leaders on a range of HR matters to improve employee experience and business outcomes.
  • Considerable experience resolving workplace grievances and disputes, and supporting leaders to manage performance, disciplinary and misconduct matters at all levels.
  • Considerable experience identifying and mitigating HR-related risks, with the ability to resolve complex problems and achieve effective outcomes.
  • Considerable experience interpreting and providing advice on industrial instruments, policies and procedures.
  • Considerable experience building relationships and advising on leadership and people management.
  • Relevant experience analysing and interpreting people data to inform business challenges and proactively identify people-related opportunities.
    • Proven ability to implement and/or recommend HR improvements aligned to business outcomes and strategy.
    • Ability to undertake travel within the State in accordance with business needs.
    • Strong written communication skills with the ability to present complex matters clearly and concisely, tailored to the audience.
    • Ability to establish and foster strong working relationships across leaders, employees, unions and HR stakeholders.
    • Communicates effectively using a broad range of methods and demonstrates advanced interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
