Purpose of the role

NGM Group Ltd is committed to excellence in customer-owned banking, and as part of our ongoing focus on strong governance and risk management, we're pleased to offer two permanent, full-time opportunities for a Vendor Management Specialists to join our team.

Reporting to a Category Manager, these roles are ideal for an experienced professional in third-party governance and risk management, ready to take the next step in managing strategic vendor relationships. You'll oversee the performance, risk, and compliance of key third-party service providers, with a focus on High-Risk contracts and Material Service Providers (MSPs) under APRA CPS 231 standards and other relevant regulatory frameworks.

You'll also ensure outsourced arrangements comply with internal policies and regulatory obligations while maximising value, service quality, and risk mitigation. You'll manage strategic frameworks, optimise provider performance, and build trusted internal and external relationships that enhance collaboration, operational efficiency, and innovation across NGM Group.

What will your key responsibilities include?

  • Contribute to the review and continuous improvement of procurement and vendor management frameworks to support strategic, commercial, and operational outcomes.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to define requirements for effective frameworks, including strategy, governance, processes, and technology.
  • Lead governance and oversight of material third-party arrangements, ensuring compliance with APRA CPS 230/231 and other regulatory standards.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with third-party arrangements and procurement strategies, ensuring timely mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitor performance, and manage corrective actions to deliver optimal cost, service, and quality outcomes.
  • Support contracting, onboarding, renewals, extensions, and terminations of vendors to reduce risk and ensure continuity of service.
  • Track, report, and present vendor performance, risk, and compliance to senior leadership, Management, and the Board.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Procurement, and business units to ensure robust frameworks, policies, and controls are applied across all third-party arrangements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement and vendor management practices, processes, and systems, staying informed on evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in vendor management, third-party risk, procurement, or governance roles, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • Experience managing material outsourcing arrangements and third-party risk frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, including tendering for goods and services.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, with a track record of achieving cost savings, service efficiencies, and optimal business outcomes through negotiation.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with external suppliers, aligning with strategic priorities.
  • Strong cross-functional experience in a complex operating environment, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Sound knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements affecting supply chain and third-party management, including relevant governance procedures.
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Desirable

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Business, Law, Risk, Procurement, Finance).
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CIPS or equivalent third-party risk training).
  • Strong knowledge of APRA regulatory obligations, including CPS 230, CPS 231, and CPS 234.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to guide, inspire, and influence teams and stakeholders.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
