Primary objective

Support development and implementation of school improvement priorities, working collaboratively across divisions to align

communications and assistance for schools. Support ongoing evaluation of the School Improvement Framework and Accountability

and Performance Improvement Framework.

Context statement

The Corporate Governance and Improvement Frameworks team is the centre of expertise for the implementation of effective

governance and improvement frameworks to ensure effective decision-making, accountability, and alignment with the

department's improvement priorities

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide effective leadership and project management to support delivery across the school improvement framework, including

working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, leadership and the coordination of associated

working groups.

  1. High level administrative support to manage communication and reporting requirements in the form of correspondence, briefs,

artefacts and reports as required.

  1. Analyse high-level information and develop strategic policy positions and initiatives which support the school improvement

framework.

  1. Provide project support and coordinate effective partnerships, networks and collaborative work within the department.
  2. Work under limited professional direction and supervision. Maintain collaborative partnerships with jurisdictional

representatives and other government and non-government agencies.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated ability to conceptualise and analyse strategic issues and to identify and prioritise these in the development of

project initiatives, including the ability to discern sensitive issues and anticipate and identify risk.

2. Demonstrated high-level oral, written, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to advocate a position and

influence groups with diverse interests to ensure the effective development of strategic project initiatives.

3. Exceptional organisational skills, including a demonstrated capacity to be self-sufficient, to meet tight deadlines with high

standards and attention to details in an environment of changing and competing priorities.

4. Demonstrated ability to exercise strong professional judgement in the provision of advice regarding complex matters and to

seek additional information from a range of sources in order to inform appropriate responses.

5. Proven ability to interact with people of diverse cultures, provide leadership, work effectively as a member of a small high

performing team, and provide support and mentoring to enhance the performance and motivation of staff.
