About the Role

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Trades Technician that wants to build a lucrative career in the mining industry and secure a role with our northern based operation – Northern Coal Services.

Conveniently located in the Lake Macquarie region, a short drive from Newcastle and the Central Coast, this role is an excellent opportunity to work in a surface-based mining operation.

Reporting to the Engineering Coordinators, your responsibilities will include

  • Operation, inspection and maintenance of coal processing equipment and other associated plant machinery, including (but not limited to)

o Conveyors

o Coal bins

o Feeder systems

o Coal crushers

o Screens

o Truck loading systems

Suitable candidates will have

  • Certificate III Electrotechnology – Electrician
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematic diagrams
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to problem solve and use own initiative
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance record
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Commitment to site safety and operational practices and targets
  • Previous experience working in a CHPP environment, working with high voltage, and switching access and using SCADA and PLC systems may be advantageous
