Overview of the Team

The Procurement, Security and Property team is responsible for supporting the strategic direction of Comcare and enabling the organisation to respond effectively to current and future business needs, through strategic and effective frameworks, advice, and processes.

Overview of the Role

The Security Operations Officer will assist the Senior Security Advisor in the implementation of Comcare's Security Plan, Site Security plan review and Security Framework to ensure compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).

In this role your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Contribute to Business Continuity Planning across Comcare.
  • Provide accurate reporting as required by the CSO, ASA or the Security unit.
  • Undertake simple risk assessment for Disclosable Court outcomes.
  • Deliver Security briefings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the maintenance of Security systems.
  • Identify and support implementation of improvements to policies, processes and systems.
  • Provide project and administration support to team.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience using Gallagher Security System, Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Incident Management, Security clearance coordination, Emergency Management and Business Continuity will be well regarded.

Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment

  • Australian citizenship.

  • Character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check).

  • Employee Health Declaration.

  • Six months probationary period for new engagements.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance.

  • Specific Conditions:

  • You will be required to participate in an after-hours on-call roster.
