**Your new company**
This influential Federal Government Department is located centrally in the CBD and is urgently seeking an APS5 The Security Advisor to assist the department with the monitoring, reporting, and managing security incidents.

**Your new role**
This is an APS5 Security Advisor. 3-months contract with the high possibility of extension. You will report directly to the Assistant Director of Security Operations. You will be expected to guide and support the Security Administrator in their duties, jointly manage the Protective Security inbox, engage with stakeholders, provide advice, and assist with routine work within the team.

Additionally, you will assist with the monitoring, reporting, and managing security incidents, risk assessments and Security Governance functions.

Key duties/tasks:

- Support Governance functions within the team, including assisting in the development and implementation of a whole of Department Security Plan, individual Security Plans and other protective security policies and instructions
- Provide oversight and guidance for junior staff (Security Administrator)
- Provide quality assurance for operational processes
- Jointly manage the Protective Security inbox, including processing routine tasks and providing Security advice and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, assigning requests to team members as required
- Risk assesses personnel security outcomes and requests

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role you will need to hold or can obtain a Certificate IV (Security) or equivalent

To be eligible for this position you will need to be an Australian Citizen and be willing to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1 or NV2). Section 26 are strongly encouraged to apply.
