Your Role

This is a full-time role for a Transport Compliance Manager, located in Townsville, QLD. The Transport Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with transport regulations, managing compliance records, conducting audits, and coordinating with regulatory bodies. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring driver logs, reviewing transport policies, providing training on compliance matters, and ensuring all vehicles and operations meet legal standards. The role also involves staying updated with changes in regulations and implementing necessary adjustments to ensure continued compliance.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to succeed in a fast paced and high pressure environment. You will be a driven individual who is analytical with great attention to detail. The ability multi-task will be paramount in this role. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong stakeholder management focus. Duties include:

  • Maintaining compliance and accreditation for NHVAS;
  • Managing incident reporting and tracking. Actively participate with the investigation of incidents and accidents as required;
  • Permit applications and renewals;
  • Develop corrective actions in conjunction with operations to close gaps and improve safety;
  • Focus on continuous improvement assist in developing and improving the information and reporting process;
  • Monitor and assist with maintenance planning and follow-up completion/compliance with company policies;
  • Develop and maintain relevant procedures and documentation;
  • Develop and maintain reports surrounding safety and compliance KPIs;
  • Actively promote and support the business safety initiatives and attend/conduct safety meetings;
  • Help determine underlying causes of problems in own area which affects safety, efficiency and customer service by applying operational or technical expertise and higher level problem solving ability.

In this position you will be required to travel to our various remote sites within Far North Queensland. You will be provided with meals and accommodation and compensated accordingly.

Skill Set:

  • High level of Excel competency;
  • Experience with Reporting/Data Analysis;
  • High level of attention to detail;
  • Short & long term maintenance planning and reporting;
  • Investigation and record-keeping skills;
  • Capability to read, interpret and action legislation;
  • Previous experience truck driving will be highly regarded.
