Himayat is a Social Traders verified social enterprise, proudly migrant- and refugee-led. Based in Canberra, we're on a mission to remove barriers for migrants and refugees across Australia through three core pillars:

• NDIS Services: culturally responsive care services and support coordination
• Digital Agency: low-cost digital solutions creating employment pathways
• Social Programs: community initiatives fostering independence and inclusion

We're at an exciting growth phase, having doubled our client base in the past year while maintaining our community-first values and 95% client satisfaction rate.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an Operations Manager who sees systems as pathways to social impact. Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll oversee operations across our three business streams, leading a team of 12 staff and ensuring our services remain compliant, efficient, and deeply human-centered.

This role offers genuine influence in a growing organisation where your improvements directly impact refugee and migrant communities. Starting at 3 days per week, this position has strong potential to expand to full-time as we grow.

What you'll be doing

• implementing operational strategies and policies across business functions to drive efficiency and productivity
• ensuring NDIS compliance, quality standards and reporting requirements meet relevant industry regulations and internal policies
• managing and coordinating the work of cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth delivery of services
• leading, mentoring, and supporting staff, fostering a positive culture of accountability, inclusion, and growth
• monitoring client services to ensure a high-quality, culturally responsive experience.
• monitoring and reporting on KPIs to identify areas for improvement
• collaborating with the leadership team to identify and address operational challenges

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who brings:

• experience in operations management, ideally in NDIS, social enterprise, or community services.
• strong knowledge of NDIS compliance and quality frameworks (or the ability to learn quickly).
• demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage diverse stakeholders.
• a systems thinker who enjoys improving processes and applying digital tools.
• strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
• commitment to equity, inclusion, and cultural competence - you value and respect the perspectives of people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.
