At Olympic Dam and Roxby Village, we provide integrated services including on-site food services, housekeeping, and maintenance, supporting one of South Australia's most significant operations.
About the Role
Do you want to make a real difference where it matters most? As a Safety Leader at Olympic Dam, you will lead a team of HSEQ Advisors, coach, mentor and provide expert advice to site leadership teams, and be a key driver in safety and food safety standards across operations. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that combines team leadership, operational oversight, and strategic influence across a large, complex site.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of HSEQ Advisors
Mentor and support site leadership teams to embed a strong safety culture and operational excellence, providing expert advise and supporting continual improvement guided by data and managed through action
Partner with the client to drive safety performance and identify improvements
Oversee incident investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and effective corrective action close-out
Deliver safety improvements through implementation of targeted programs across the site
Maintain compliance with Australian and international HSEQ standards
Support food safety compliance across on-site catering operations, identifying and working with site teams to continually improve performance
Build strong client and stakeholder relationships, demonstrating how Compass manages risk and adds value
Analyse safety performance metrics and trends, providing insights and reporting to leadership
Assist in presentations to customers as required including development of Management Plans
What You'll Bring
Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
Capability to influence and guide senior leadership teams
Demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring site leaders to embed a safety-first culture
Ability to align with clients on safety goals and drive measurable performance improvements
Strong experience implementing and monitoring HSEQ programs in complex, multi-service environments
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in WHS (must have) or Degree in WHS (desirable)
Qualifications in leadership & management (highly regarded)
ICAM investigation training (highly regarded)
Knowledge of food safety systems (desirable)
