About the Role
We're excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced safety professional to join the Prominent Hill HSSEM team as a Safety Specialist.
Reporting to the Safety Superintendent, you'll play a key role in providing expert advice, coaching, and support to leaders across site, helping to drive a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.
This role is based at our Prominent Hill mine and offered on a 8:6 (Days only) FIFO roster from Adelaide or Port Augusta.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse safety data to identify trends and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Provide on-the-ground coaching to personnel on safety systems and practices.
- Participate in and support site safety routines and meetings.
- Deliver training on safety systems and processes.
- Facilitate and / or Lead investigation and learning activities.
- Manage the Safety inbox and respond to operational queries.
- Champion field leadership and hazard awareness programs.
- Support the Health and Safety Representative (HSR) process.
About You
You're a proactive and self-driven safety professional with a passion for coaching and influencing positive change. You bring:
- Previous experience in a safety-focused role.
- A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in safety management.
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and influence at all levels.
- Experience in incident investigation facilitation.
- Solid data analysis skills.
- A current C-class (or equivalent) driver's licence.
