Insurance Training Specialist

As part of the Insurance Delivery and Performance team, the Insurance Training Specialist plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality member services through structured, role-based training. This role is responsible for designing and delivering induction programs, ongoing training, and one-on-one coaching for both internal Insurance Operations and external Administrator Insurance Operations teams.
You'll work closely with the Insurance Training Manager and collaborate with stakeholders across Insurance Risk & Governance and Insurance Claims Portfolio Management to ensure training is aligned with operational needs, regulatory obligations, and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing the Insurance Training Strategic Plan and framework
- Conduct skills and training needs analysis across internal and external teams
- Maintain and update training materials in line with operational processes and regulations
- Design and deliver training programs for Case Managers and broader insurance teams
- Use data from Complaints & Voice of Customer to inform training opportunities
- Develop training modules and maintain a centralised training library
- Prepare engaging learning materials, including case studies and simplified regulatory content
- Deliver training in both face-to-face and virtual formats
- Assess trainee knowledge and evaluate training effectiveness
- Provide monthly training reports and maintain documentation
- Explore the use of AI and insurer-provided materials to enhance training content
You'll bring a strong background in insurance within superannuation, particularly Group Insurance, and a passion for learning and development. You're confident delivering training to diverse audiences and skilled at translating complex information into accessible content.
Key Selection Criteria
- Qualifications in learning and development/training (desirable)
- Advanced knowledge of insurance in superannuation, including underwriting and claims
- Experience delivering training programs and coaching in varied environments
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles
- Proficiency in LMS, e-learning tools, and Microsoft 365
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset
