Job Description
MACS is seeking a Project Accountant to support the successful delivery of its major ERP transformation (SAP) under the Digital Re-Imagination Program. Reporting to the GM, Group Finance, this role will ensure financial integrity, compliance, and robust reporting while partnering with Finance, IT and project stakeholders. Ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong project accounting and ERP transformation experience, and the ability to provide clear analysis and insights that drive decision-making.
Please note: This is a two-year fixed-term role
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop, manage, and maintain project budgets in collaboration with the ERP program team, ensuring alignment with the overarching business case and funding approvals.
- Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly financial reports including forecasts, actuals, and variance analysis against budget and previous projections.
- Monitor capital and operating expenditure classifications to ensure accurate accounting treatment in line with accounting standards and internal policy.
- Support financial input into change requests, scope variations, and project re-baselining activities, ensuring financial implications are well understood and communicated.
- Build strong working relationships with Finance, IT, Procurement, and project workstream leads to ensure cohesive financial planning and execution.
ABOUT YOU
- Demonstrated experience in project accounting, preferably within large-scale ERP implementations (SAP experience highly desirable) with a Strong understanding of capitalisation rules, cost allocation, and accounting standards applicable to IT and transformation projects.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain complex financial models and provide accurate forecasts, variance analysis, and cost reporting. Must have advanced skills in Excel as well as reporting and dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic financial insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing high-quality financial reports, presentations, and executive-level briefings with the ability to tailor messaging and data visualisation to suit both financial and non-financial audiences.
