About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Leading Hand to join our landscape construction team. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Site Foreman and will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to apprentices and less experienced personnel. This role encompasses support and oversight across all phases of the landscape construction process, from project commencement through to final completion and handover.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Trade certification or equivalent

  • 5 Years relevant Leading Hand experience within the industry

  • Valid Class C drivers' license

Desirable

  • Excavator Operations VOC

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Install plants, trees, irrigation, turf, retaining walls, paving, decking, and other hard/softscaping features.

  • Oversee labour and subcontractors to ensure productivity, quality, and safe work practices.

  • Perform construction activities using up to date methodology and assist with maintaining and enforcing good construction standards and quality control.

  • In conjunction with the Site Foreman, analyse various cost/construction options to determine most cost-effective alternatives and assist with the monitoring of the project construction schedule on a weekly basis.

  • Maintain control and security of company equipment, tools, and project documentation.

  • Uphold company procedures, construction standards, and quality control requirements.

  • Provide direction to junior staff and liaise with senior site management as needed.
