Event Operations Supervisor

The Role
The award-winning Homage Restaurant at Spicers Hidden Vale is seeking an experienced Events Operations Supervisor to lead our team 'on the day' for bespoke, elevated events such as conferences, event days, group bookings and weddings.
About Spicers Hidden Vale
From the moment you turn into the driveway it is hard to believe that such a place could exist so close to a major city. Just an hour's drive from the Brisbane CBD, Spicers Hidden Vale is a destination that invites relaxation and rejuvenation.
Set on 12,000 acres, the retreat features an Australian barn, beautifully restored colonial cottages from a bygone era and a warm country welcome. There is space to relax, space to listen, and space to embark on an adventure amidst abundant wildlife. With a number of different indoor and outdoor spaces to explore, Spicers Hidden Vale is a unique luxury Australian experience.
Complementing our award-winning onsite restaurant Homage, we have an 89-bed market garden, fermentation room, orchard, bee hives and free-range farm onsite, meaning that much of the produce is from Spicers Hidden Vale itself and anything that's not, is collected directly from nearby farms. It's the small things, like 'family mealtime' before service, having the opportunity to work outside in the garden and interacting with our guests that make the difference.
The Role and Key Duties
- Ensure all events are executed according to the hotel's standards and client specifications, overseeing the setup, execution, and breakdown of events;
- Serve as the main point of contact for guests throughout the duration of their event, troubleshoot any issues to ensure a smooth experience, and build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business;
- Lead and manage the events team, including scheduling shifts and delivering ongoing training to foster a positive, knowledgeable, and service-oriented team culture;
- Collaborate with Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Manager to ensure food offering and service delivery of the highest standard;
- Ensure compliance with all food and workplace health & safety regulations and strive to always work in a safe manner in line with workplace procedures.
Criteria Required to be Considered
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or related field (preferred);
- 1-2 years experience in a leadership role, preferably in event management;
- Previous events experience in a 5 star or high-end hotel environment;
- Excellent guest service skills and ability to remain calm under pressure;
- Attention to detail, organisational and problem-solving skills;
- Ability and willingness to commence work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays;
- Reliable vehicle to get to and from the restaurant;

Salter Brothers Hospitality Benefits
- Huge range of discounts across our entire portfolio of luxury hotels and retreats including accommodation, F&B and Spa discounts;
