About the role

This is an exciting 3 month full time contract opportunity for an experienced Interior Designer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to contribute to some of Australia's most unique Interior Design projects. The candidate will work collaboratively with the team and director on a residential project. The role involves working from our Surry Hills office.

About us

BIDA Design Consultants is an award-winning Interior Design Studio, established for over 21 years with a strong focus on residential and commercial spaces. The company views architecture, interior design, and styling as one. Through the company's deep understanding of creating unique spaces, they explore how people experience an environment and what design can bring to that narrative. The Interior Designer will be involved in managing client relationships but will not hold primary responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptual design

  • Design direction

  • Presentation and mood board creation

  • Client

    • Presentations and briefings

    • Site inspection and measure

  • Providing responses to and delegating RFIs, reviewing shop drawings

  • Suppliers

  • Sourcing and specification

  • Scheduling

  • Creation of schedules

    • Finishes categories

    • FF&E

  • 3D rendering

  • Creation of documentation packs

  • Installation and final fit out

What you have:

  • 5 years' experience as an Interior Designer or Documenter with a portfolio showcasing a range of innovative projects

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited institution

  • Local Australian experience

  • Proven experience in Commercial and Residential projects preferred

  • Proficiency in Revit is a must (Please do not apply if you do not have the level of experience required)

  • Ability to problem-solve, work to tight deadlines and demonstrate high attention to detail

  • Good communication skills and ability to produce regular project progress updates for clients / consultants as required

  • Must be an Australian Resident with unconditional working conditions.
