Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Designer

The Opportunity
We're seeking a skilled Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Designer with a strong commitment to maintaining standards and delivering consistent, high-quality work. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing detailed EIC deliverables for our clients and ensuring accuracy and compliance with Mipac's design standards.
Your Responsibilities
- Design Detail: Interpreting Engineer's conceptual designs and transforming them into detailed technical deliverables.
- Drawing Preparation: Create and update electrical and control system deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&ID's, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOM's and Panel Arrangements.
- Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings.
- Support & Maintenance: Maintain AutoCAD infrastructure and design tool procedures including assessing most appropriate software and tools and driving continual improvement.
- Training & Audits: Train new starters in MIPAC's AutoCAD and design tool procedures and conduct regular audits.
- Team Collaboration: Work with drafters, designers, and Engineers to ensure timely project completion that is within budget.

- AutoCAD Administration: Maintain MIPAC's AutoCAD standards and library. Ensures that Client CAD standards are implemented.
About You
- Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or recognised equivalent), or a relevant electrical trade background
- Demonstrated experience in electrical, instrumentation, and control design drafting
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD (Intermediate to Advanced level)
- Familiarity with design tools such as AVEVA Instrumentation and/or Eplan is desirable
- Exposure to 3D modelling software is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables
- Good oral communication skills for effective collaboration with engineers and design team members
- Solid computer literacy and sound mathematical skills
- Understanding of design standards and willingness to adhere to Mipac's procedures and ISO 9001 principles
- Ability to manage workload effectively and contribute to timely project delivery
