Due to ongoing growth and development, we are currently seeking 2 x suitably qualified, experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians for a full-time role in the industrial sector.

The successful applicants will have the ability to:

  • Install, maintain and repair low voltage (LV) electrical systems including wiring, switchgear, and control circuitry.
  • Experience within the utilities sector would be advantageous.
  • All applicants must have a strong ability to fault find on control systems, have a solutions-based attitude to problem solving, and be comfortable with exposure to a diverse range of working environments.
  • Test, troubleshoot and repair electrical components
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain instrument systems for measuring and controlling variables such as pressure, temperature, flow rates and level indicators.
  • Knowledge and understanding of analysers, eg turbidity, PH, Conductivity, ORP.
  • Understanding of PLCs Control Systems and PID
  • Read and interpret IFC's, Instrumentation drawings, standards and equipment manuals to verify system compliance and functionality.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on automation and control systems to minimise downtime due to failure.
  • Be available for shutdowns and a reasonable amount of Overtime where required to suit project requirements depending on client's requirements.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with the ability to Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to provide a solutions-based performance resolution.
  • A strong working knowledge of the Australian standards (AS3000) and workplace health and safety act and regulations.
  • A commitment to working safety and following Site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Enjoy providing innovative quality solutions for the end user

In this role, you will be working throughout Brisbane and surrounding areas carrying out a variety of tasks on industrial sites within our Minor Works and Projects departments.

Mega have a presence within the Public Sector working in the utilities space and also work in high-speed processing and automation within the private sector

Essential to this role:

  • A current QLD Electrical Fitter/Mechanic licence.
  • Instrumentation Cert III/ IV
  • 3-5 years post trade experience.
  • White Construction Induction card.
  • Experience working with Utilities or High-Speed Processing sectors.
  • Competent at Fault Finding.
  • Understanding of PLC's and control systems.
  • Experience in industrial installation works.
  • A current manual QLD drivers' licence.
  • Current CPR & LVR certificate.
  • Proficient testing of installation works.
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of electrical drawings.
  • Experience with complex installation works.
  • Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • A positive attitude.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Utilities.
  • Experience with complex industrial installation works.
  • Knowledge of Automation systems, including Scada and Distributed Control Systems
  • Experience with MV-HV Systems
