Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Liquid HR Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

About Us

Liquid HR is a HR Consulting firm established in 2013 with a vision to become Australia's premier HR partner for small and medium-sized businesses. In 2025, we have offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, and a team of 30+ consultants supporting clients across Australia with people-focused, practical HR solutions.

The Role

We are looking for an Employment Relations Consultant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, solving complex workplace issues, and balancing strategic advisory with hands-on operational support.

You will act as a trusted advisor on all aspects of Employment Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR), ensuring compliance with legislation, resolving disputes, and helping businesses implement best-practice solutions.

Most of the role can be performed remotely, with occasional onsite client visits as required (e.g. investigations). Therefore, you can be located in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on ER/IR matters including grievances, performance management, investigations, misconduct, and terminations.

  • Support clients with Fair Work Commission matters such as unfair dismissal claims, general protections, and enterprise bargaining.

  • Conduct workplace investigations, mediation, and dispute resolution.

  • Ensure client compliance with employment legislation, awards, and agreements.

  • Draft and review contracts, policies, and procedures.

  • Design and deliver ER/IR initiatives (e.g. workforce planning, change management, training, bargaining).

  • Partner with clients on strategies to improve culture, engagement, and retention.

  • Mentor and support team members, contributing to a positive and collaborative culture.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Human Resources, or a related discipline.

  • Strong technical knowledge of employment legislation, modern awards, enterprise agreements, and Fair Work Commission processes.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and commercial awareness.

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.

  • Proven track record of building authentic, trusted relationships.

Why Join Us?

  • Flexible hybrid/remote work arrangements.

  • Be part of a supportive, collaborative, and growing consulting team.

  • Exposure to a diverse client base across industries.

  • Opportunities to lead projects and mentor colleagues.

  • Make a real impact on businesses across Australia.
