We're seeking a dynamic Relief Hotel Manager to join our thriving hospitality business and oversee operations across our diverse portfolio of motels and resorts in New South Wales and Queensland.

About the Role

As our Relief Hotel Manager, you will oversee daily hotel operations as if they're your own, ensuring smooth running across all departments and a memorable stay for every guest. You'll lead by example, from the front desk to crisis management, while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, safety, and operational excellence.

This contract position runs for an initial 3-month term with the possibility of extension, offering you the chance to step into a strategic leadership role immediately.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations, team performance and guest service across multiple properties.
  • Lead by example with a hands-on approach – from front desk support to maintenance oversight.
  • Manage safety, compliance, and duty of care for guests, team members and assets.
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners and stakeholders, ensuring open communication.
  • Handle financial administration: budgets, forecasting, debtor management, audits and reporting.
  • Partner with Sales, Revenue and Marketing to build and monitor annual business plans.
  • Drive revenue performance, maximise Net RevPAR and set revenue strategies with the Regional Revenue Manager.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance, groundskeeping and asset care.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, reviews and performance management for team members.
  • Conduct daily briefings and monthly meetings to keep staff informed and engaged.
  • Maintain immaculate cleanliness and presentation standards across all areas.
  • Complete additional tasks or projects as required by management.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Proven experience in hotel/motel/resort management or a senior hospitality leadership role.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and financial acumen.
  • The ability to travel between locations across NSW & QLD as required.
  • Australian citizenship (essential).
  • Availability to start immediately.
