National WHS Advisor
Looking to move into a national advisory role and make a real impact - without being on the tools?
This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned WHS professional to step into a head office-based position where you'll support the rollout of national safety initiatives, partner with site teams, and help embed a proactive, people-first safety culture across the G.James Group.
About Us
At G.James, safety is not just a priority - it's a core value that underpins everything we do. We're seeking a
National WHS Advisor
to join our Group Support Services team, based at
Head Office in Eagle Farm.
This is an advisory and coordination role, working closely with safety professionals and operational leaders to support the rollout of national safety strategies and initiatives. You'll play a key role in ensuring consistency in WHS practices, improving systems and documentation, and driving behavioural change across the business.
While the strategic direction is set by senior leadership, your input will help shape how safety is communicated, understood, and applied at all levels. You'll mostly operate from head office, but some site travel will be required to build relationships and provide support where it matters most.
G.James Glass and Aluminium is a proudly Australian, family-owned company with more than 100 years of industry experience. From our beginnings as a single glass factory in Brisbane, we have grown into a national, vertically integrated manufacturer and contractor with over 2,000 employees across 30 locations. Our success is built on innovation, quality and a deep sense of responsibility to our people, customers and the communities we serve. Across all levels of our business, we are committed to safe, sustainable operations and continuous improvement.
The Role
Provide leadership, technical guidance, and strategic direction in all areas of Workplace Health and Safety across the G. James Group.
- Enforce G. James WHS policies and procedures across all sites
- Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and RTW programs
- Audit hazard registers and maintain site risk assessments
- Coach and support site teams via safety professionals
- Deliver national WHS metrics, dashboards, and reports to senior leadership
- Support RTW plans with Injury Management Coordinator and insurers
- Ensure accurate WHS system use, data integrity, and recordkeeping
- Monitor legislative changes and site compliance nationally
- Assist in external audits and governance reviews
- Maintain up-to‑date WHS registers, documentation, and programmes
About You
- Tertiary qualification and/or Certificate or Diploma in WHS or OHS highly desirable
- 5+ years in a WHS role, preferably in labour-intensive environments desirable
- Strategic thinker with the capacity to analyse and report WHS trends and metrics
- Deep knowledge of WHS legislation, systems, and risk management frameworks
- Excellent communicator, capable of managing challenging situations with diplomacy and clarity
What We Offer
- Competitive salary package aligned with your experience
- Full-time permanent role, immediate start
- Benefits: 7% discounted Bupa cover + Employee Assistance Program (TELUS Health)
- Free onsite parking and a positive safety-first culture
- Career growth across the G.James Group
- Stability and excellent employment conditions with an Australian family-owned manufacturer committed to local production
How to Apply
Ready to make an impact? Please submit your cover letter and resume for consideration.
Please note:
Successful applicants will need to complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
