At Hutchies, we don't just build buildings — we build careers, communities, and a culture of safety. We're currently looking for a passionate Safety Advisor to join one of our Brisbane construction teams to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of our people across a diverse range of projects.

About the Role

As a Safety Advisor, you'll be a trusted partner on-site, working alongside project teams to maintain Hutchies' high safety standards. You'll be responsible for promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, and supporting continuous improvement in all aspects of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert safety advice and support to site teams and subcontractors
  • Conduct site inductions, safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company policies, and client requirements
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, and support the implementation of corrective actions
  • Contribute to the development of site-specific safety documentation (SWMS, SOPs, management plans etc)
  • Foster a strong safety culture through education, mentoring, and clear communication
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, and the Team HSE Manager

What We're Looking For

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum)
  • Experience in a safety advisory role within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and Australian Standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to build trust and rapport across teams
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
  • Construction White Card
  • Current driver's licence
