About Us
The Solvar story began in 2000, with two office locations serving a few thousand consumers in Melbourne. Fast forward to today, we are an ASX-listed market leader in consumer and business lending. We serve over 100,000 customers and are rapidly establishing ourselves as one of Australia's most innovative financial services firms. We're passionate about what we do, who we do it for, and wholeheartedly believe in our shared purpose: 'Helping to solve life's financial needs'.
We're seeking a strategic Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join our team in this newly created role. You will play a pivotal role in driving profitable growth through data-driven insights and robust risk management. But you won't just be monitoring risk; this role will have a broad scope across a number of areas, providing opportunity to be exposed to a variety of aspects across the organisation. You'll be actively shaping how we grow responsibly. Your insights will influence strategic decisions, your methodologies will drive operational improvements, and your governance will ensure we maintain the highest standards. As we scale, we're keen to see and support your growth in this role.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for developing dashboards and analytical insights that provide clear explanations of portfolio trends, identify emerging risks, and highlight key performance drivers. You will regularly deliver thorough and compelling analysis to executive leadership, offering a comprehensive view of portfolio performance and risk dynamics. Additionally, you will champion data integrity, ensuring that every metric and analytical output adheres to the highest standards of quality.
You'll provide input on the design and implementation of origination strategies, helping to deliver robust credit scoring models, and developing decisioning frameworks that maximise profitable business outcomes. You'll collaborate closely with product, operations, and technology teams to integrate intelligent credit policies and enhance automation across processes. Striking an effective balance between risk and reward, you will actively support the company's ambitious growth targets while ensuring that all activities remain within the agreed risk appetite.
You will oversee credit risk frameworks, policies, and controls, ensuring strict adherence to ASIC, NCCPA, and Privacy Act requirements. Your remit will include closely monitoring portfolio health, tracking arrears trends, and identifying early warning signals to support proactive risk management. Additionally, you will continuously enhance governance practices and improve the effectiveness of monitoring, contributing to Solvar's commitment to responsible growth and high standards of risk management.
About You
You possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to translate complex data into clear and actionable business recommendations. Your expertise extends to understanding the intricacies of credit risk assessment and methodology development, allowing you to balance regulatory requirements with commercial objectives effectively. You thrive on collaborating across different teams to implement practical and impactful solutions, and you are comfortable presenting your insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Why Solvar?
When you join our team, you'll have:
