About the role:

The Paralegal supports CDC's Legal team by assisting with research, drafting documents, managing contract lifecycles, and helping with compliance and risk-related tasks. They'll work closely with Legal Counsels across a range of assignments, including reviewing contracts, drafting memos and briefs, and coordinating record-keeping.

They'll also help ensure legal and contractual obligations are understood across the business, supporting awareness, communication, and training initiatives.

This role sits within the Legal team and collaborates with Sales & Hyperscale, Information and Security, Finance, Development, and Operations. The team is highly skilled and provides expert guidance with flexibility and consistency.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Proactively and astutely assist the Legal Counsels in supporting the business, keeping accurate and up-to-date records, articulating contractual risks, and establishing control and reporting mechanisms to manage key risks effectively.
  • Contribute to the ongoing scaling and growth of CDC.
  • Assist in reviewing supplier and customer contracts, and recommend and negotiate improved outcomes for CDC.
  • Help establish and maintain pragmatic, best practice contract and procurement management processes.
  • Ensure proactive monitoring, reporting, and escalation of risks and any non-compliances.
  • Thoroughly review existing contractual arrangements to identify risks that need to be managed internally or renegotiated externally within the current contract set.

About you: 

This role is ideal for a law student in their 3rd or 4th year looking to gain practical, hands-on experience in a fast-paced and growing business. You're interested in how legal work connects to real commercial outcomes and want exposure to live contracts, research tasks, and the day-to-day workings of an in-house legal team.

We're looking for someone with availability of at least 2 days per week (ideally 3) with an increase in hours during university breaks. We'll work with you to ensure your study commitments are supported. The ideal person

Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
