About the role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate Chef to join Uniting AgeWell in a casual role, working across multiple aged care sites in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, including Forest Hill, Camberwell, Hawthorn, Box Hill, and other locations as required.

In this role, you'll deliver high-quality, nutritious meals that enhance the daily lives of our residents. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, preparing, and presenting meals that meet individual dietary needs, including supplements and texture-modified foods
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety standards and HACCP procedures
  • Managing stock, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste
  • Maintaining kitchen hygiene and cleanliness
  • Collaborating with care staff to meet residents' preferences and nutritional requirements
  • Occasionally engaging with residents to improve their dining experience

About you:

This is the place for you if you have:

  • Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Have experience in a Residential Aged Care kitchen environment (ordering, budgeting and rostering)
  • Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
  • Fully conversant with HACCP and food safety legislation
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
  • Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children Check card
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
