Are you a passionate chef with a heart for making a difference in the lives of the elderly? We have exciting opportunities for skilled and dedicated Chefs to join our team on a casual at our Not-for-Profit Aged Care Facility located in Camberwell on a casual basis. With 102 residents to serve, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality hospitality and catering services that enrich the lives of our residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook delicious and nutritious meals in adherence to our food safety plan and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to Catering Services Assistants, ensuring the smooth operation of our food services.
  • Demonstrate a positive 'can do' approach, fostering a warm and welcoming dining experience for residents.
  • Utilise your expertise in the aged care sector to meet the unique dietary and nutritional needs of our senior residents.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of the IDDSI framework to ensure safe and appropriate food textures for individuals with dysphagia.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a chef, preferably within an aged care sector or similar setting.
  • Formal qualifications as a chef, showcasing your culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Familiarity with the IDDSI framework and its application in aged care dining.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members.
  • A compassionate and caring nature, dedicated to providing exceptional service to our elderly residents.
