Lethbridge Park Public School is located in Western Sydney and has an enrolment of 494 students (178 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students), comprising an onsite preschool, 18 mainstream classes, and 7 support classes. Lethbridge Park Public School has passionate and enthusiastic staff with a range of early career and experienced teachers who focus on creating student-centred learning opportunities, enabling all students to positively contribute to the culture of the school. The school has embedded, data-informed systems and collaborative processes, including the use of spirals of inquiry, data walls, and data days that inform explicit, responsive, evidence-based teaching and learning programs. A continuous learning culture has been established through the creation and implementation of targeted, high-impact professional learning, supportive coaching and mentoring practices, and effective QTSS processes. The school is focused on working in collaboration with the whole school community to create an educationally connected school community through a culture of high expectations for all. Lethbridge Park Public School is a Connected Communities School. The school will work in partnership with the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and the local community to achieve the key accountabilities of the role. Selection CriteriaApproval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism, mild to moderate intellectual disability, supporting complex learning needs, including communication, sensory, wellbeing, and challenging behaviour.
Demonstrated ability to collaboratively develop, maintain and review Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans with the capacity to use data to deliver responsive, high-quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs.
High-quality classroom practice and management skills to create an inclusive, positive learning environment, enabling all students to connect, succeed and thrive.
Well-developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage proactively and professionally with students, parents and carers from a diverse range of backgrounds, staff, support agencies and the wider community, as part of a collaborative team to improve student outcomes.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
