Yennora Public School is located in south-western Sydney, in the Local Government Area of Fairfield and is part of the Auburn network of schools. The current population of 246 students is culturally and linguistically diverse with 94% of students from language backgrounds other than English. Arabic has a representation of 54% with the remaining population representing 26 different language backgrounds.The school's Support Unit has seven classes catering for students with moderate to severe intellectual disability and autism. Each class is supported by a full time School Learning and Support Officer. We have a passionate and cohesive team of teachers and support staff, delivering high quality education and enabling opportunities for every child to reach their potential. The school culture is firmly focused on learning K-6 and improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for all students by developing inclusive programs. Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is integral to our school's well-being program. PBL is an evidence-based framework that brings together the whole-school community to contribute to developing a positive, safe and supportive learning culture.
Selection Criteria- Approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching students with additional learning needs including autism and intellectual disabilities, with proven abilities to implement strategies to meet their communication, sensory, social and behavioural needs.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute positively to whole school culture and work collaboratively to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, community and external agencies.
- Ability to differentiate the curriculum and implement individualised learning programs that are culturally responsive, inclusive and maximise student success.
- Evidence of outstanding, flexible classroom management skills that focus on improving student engagement, creating a positive learning environment and promoting inclusive practices in all school settings.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
