Bankstown North Public School is located in South Western Sydney and provides high quality education for a richly diverse community with 95% of students having a language background other than English. The school currently supports the learning of 400 students, inclusive of diverse learners with four Support Classes for students with IO/AU and AU.

Selection Criteria- Approval to teach special education and/or experience, skills and knowledge to teach students with complex needs, including autism, intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbances, and challenging behaviours to promote positive learning environments and inclusive practices.
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum, cater for cross stage learning and experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring Personalised Learning and Support Plans (PLaSPs) that are responsive to the individual learning, wellbeing, and developmental goals of students within a special education context.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in using a range of classroom management and flexible teaching strategies that engage and cater for the academic, communication, sensory, social and emotional needs of students.
- Highly developed communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated commitment to contributing positively to the culture of the special education unit and the broader school community through building and maintaining effective partnerships with students, families, external service providers and community agencies
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
